Following the just announced partnership between Bitnob and Strike, here is all you need to know about receiving money from the United States of America using Strike, and the Lightning Network, to your local account, using Bitnob.

How does this work?

This is different from other money transfers using banks. When a sender sends you money from their Strike app, that money is converted into bitcoin which is sent via the Lightning Network to Bitnob. Bitnob then arranges the payout to you, either to your USD stablecoin balance in the Bitnob app or directly to your designated bank or mobile money account.

Why should you take advantage of this?

  • You can receive money from your loved ones in the United States of America within minutes

  • Zero bank queues as with traditional cross-border money transfer platforms

  • For remote workers, your employers can make instant payments to you from the United States of America and this will be settled in your local currency within minutes

  • You do not need to interact with Bitcoin to receive money

What are the requirements for Africans who want to receive money from the USA?

To receive money from the United States of America, the sender needs to have an account with our partner, Strike, through which they can send money to you instantly.

Based on your country, and your status as a Bitnob user, you can share the following information with the sender to enable them to send you money via Strike.
